Goa Carnival, also known as Bon Carnival, is one among the many and various colorful feasts and festivals that are celebrated in
Goa. Introduced by the Portuguese, the carnival is the most eagerly awaited event celebrated in the state. It is held in the month of February and lasts for three days.
The carnival is presided over by the legendary King Momo. The streets come alive with music and color. The people give flavour to the carnival by singing, dancing and drifting. Enormous parades are also organized.
The carnival concludes with the famous red-and-black dance performed by the Clube National in Panaji.
