Hooghly, Giri Doot is a leading mountaineering association of India. It was established with an objective of promoting adventurous activities and social work among the young people.
Recognized by the Government of India in 1975, Giri Doot is one of the premier organizations of this kind in the nation. It offers short-term training courses for nature lovers and organizes adventure activities such as camping, trekking, mountaineering, rafting, rock climbing, and jungle tours. Training for rock climbing instructors, and services of mountain guides and rescuers, camp leaders and ice-craft instructors can be availed there. Mountaineering and trekking equipments are available for rental. Static and mobile adventure exhibitions are also conducted.
