Ghumra Dance

Ghumra is a dance form popular among the tribal people of Orissa. This dance is performed by men.

A drum called ‘ghumra’ is played during this dance performance. The performer sings, plays the drum and dances to the drum’s tunes. These dances are performed during a social function or festival.

Sometimes competition involving two groups, containing 20 to 25 performers each, is held during the night.
