Ghukkewali

Ghukkewali is a small village situated 21 km from Amritsar in Punjab. Guru Arjan Sahib and Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, have visited this village which made it sacred. To commemorate the visit of Guru Arjan Sahib, the fifth sikh guru, a shrine was built here, which was then known as Guru Ki Raur. Later another gurdwara was also built in the same compound in memory of the visit of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, the ninth Sikh guru.

As per the desire of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, a Baoli was constructed here with a garden around it, now known as Guru Da Bagh. The village also holds another gurdwara, Gurdwara Baoli Sahib, near the Baoli. The present building of this gurdwara was renovated in 1980.

Amritsar Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
