Ghotia Amba Dham Temple is a highly revered shrine, situated about 30 km from
Banswara, in
Banswara District of
Rajasthan. The temple enshrines the statues of the five
Pandava brothers and their mother and wife, the central characters of the epic
Mahabharata.
History recounts that the legendary Pandavas had spent their thirteenth year of exile in the surrounding areas of this temple. In early times it was a small structure built by the local people and later it was renovated.
Ghotia Amba Fair, an annual five-day festival, celebrated here with much pomp and splendor, in which the Bhils gather to take a holy dip in a tank near the temple.
