Ghorasahan is located in East Champaran District of Bihar. It lies near the Indo-Nepal border and is 25 km north-east of Motihari, the district headquarters.

Nearest airport is at Patna. Ghorasahan Railway Station is on the Sitamarhi - Raxaul rail route.
