Ghanta Ghat is situated at
Chinsurah in
Hooghly District,
West Bengal. This ghat was made by Nrisinha Das in 1725. It is associated with the musical sound clock fixed on the top of an Old Dutch church at this place. Recently, renovation work was carried out in the ghat. A plaque in memory of Batakrishna Mallik is also installed here.
Ghanta Ghat can be accessed from Kolkata, which is 50 km away. The nearest railway stations are Chinsurah and Hooghly. Ferry services are also available across the Ganges river to reach this place. The airbase close to this destination is Dumdum.
