Ghadlya Festival




Ghadlya is a festival celebrated by girls in Madhya Pradesh.

On this occasion, girls form groups and carry a dented earthen pot containing an oil lamp. This pot is called ‘Ghadlya’. The girls pay visit to each home in their locality and sing songs specific to this festival. On completion of the recital of songs, they are offered food or money.
