Ger is a community dance performed by the
Garasias of
Rajasthan. This dance is performed during the
Holi festival. Only men participate in this dance.
The dancers holding sticks in their hand strike it together in a rhythmic fashion. The music is produced by the beating a big drum and the striking together of brass plates. The dance and the music, which are initially slow, gather pace towards the end of the performance.
