Gemmological Institute of India (GII) is the first non profit research and educational organization in the field of Gemology in India. It is located on the Mumbadevi Road in

This public institution was established by the Gem and Jewellery Exporters Association in the year 1971 for the promotion and development of the science of gemstones and research studies. The institute conducts gemology diploma program, jewelry casting and bead stringing courses. Distance education program for one year comprises of theory and practical.
