Gautala




Gautala is a hilly terrain located 72 km away from Aurangabad. It is one of the most delightful picnic spots with extensive deciduous forests. The sanctuary here on the Satmala hills, which spreads over an area of 269 sq km in Kannad and Chalisgaon taluks of Aurangabad and Jalgaon Districts, has a famous fort known as Antur Fort and many ancient Buddhist cave temples popularly known as Pithalkhora. Another noteworthy thing is Gautala’s rapid waterfalls which earn special attention among visitors. Moreover, Gautala houses the only national park in this region, well known for deer and other wildlife.
