Gauda Zagor is a dance drama performed by the Gauda community of
Goa. The theme is mostly based on social issues and family life.
The striking point of Gauda Zagor is that it is performed during the night. The performance continues till dawn. The artists don the role of day-to-day characters such as goldsmiths, government authority, misguided errant youth and spinsters. The songs also reflect the basic aspects of the characters and are performed in a comic fashion. A host of traditional percussion instruments provide the background music.
Gauda Zagor is a means of providing a complete entertainment for the audience.
