Gasherbrum Glacier

Gasherbrum, at the foot of the Gasherbrum Peak, is on the southern slopes of the Karakoram Ranges at Baltistan area of Ladakh. Its length extends up to 26 km.

Gasherbrum Glacier is joined by several glaciers in the hanging valleys. The melt-water from this glacier flows into the Shyok River.

Due to extreme cold, this place is devoid of vegetation. The glacier can be approached via Skardu in Ladakh.
