Ganesh Temple Complex

This famous Ganesh Mandir is situated on the banks of Krishna River. Dedicated to Lord Ganesh, the temple was constructed between 1811 and 1844 by Raja Chintamanrao Patwardhan. The stone used in the temple was brought from Jotiba Hills near Kolhapur. The idol is made of marble. The Ganesh Temple Complex has four other temples on the four sides of the main temple. These are temples dedicated to Chintamaneshwar, Chintamaneshwari, Surya and Lakshmi-Narayana. The last one is a shrine where Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu are worshipped together.
