Galtaji

Surrounded by gardens and hills, Galtaji is an ancient pilgrimage centre dotted with temples, pavilions and holy tanks. Galtaji was the center of Bhakti Movement in Rajasthan in the 12th century and under the guidance of Acharya Ramanand several temples were built here. Some of these temples have beautiful murals. The main attraction of Galtaji is a small shrine dedicated to Surya, the Sun god, on the hilltop. This temple was built by Diwan Kriparam. Galtaji is easily accessible from Jaipur.
