Gair is a Bhil dance usually performed at the time of
Holi, in
Rajasthan. It is performed by both men and women. The male dancers move in clockwise and then in anti-clockwise movements, with the accompaniment of beating their sticks to create the rhythm when they turn. They wear long, pleated tunics that open out into full-length skirts with their movements.
The variations of Gair Dance include the Dandia Gair in Marwar region and Geendad in the Shekhawati region.
