Funhilol




Funhilol is a small village in the Minicoy Island of Lakshadweep. This village has its own internal organization, customs and food habits. It has a Moopan or Bodukaka (head-man of the village) and Bodudatha (head-woman of the village). It is a cluster of houses under the administrative control of the Mooppan. The village features a beautifully garnished village house. Most of the islanders are employed as seamen.

The main language spoken is Mahl, which is written in Divehi script. The village boat is known as Lanchi.
