Feroze Shah's Palace is a historical monument located in
Hissar District of
Haryana. It was built by
Feroze Shah Tughluq, the sultan of
Delhi. The palace is made of rubble masonry covered with thick lime plaster. Sandstone carved pillars of Hindu temples supported the arches of the temple. Two and three-storied structures are erected on the side of the open courtyard.
The western wall of the palace is embedded with passage to which steps lead from the terrace. The passage is equipped with bastions. It was meant to safeguard the palace. A lotus-tank is situated on the terrace. Some structures in red sandstone which are of later origin can be found in the eastern side of the palace.
The palace is easily accessible from Hissar bus station and Hissar Railway Station at Hissar. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest airport.
