St Anthony Church at
Siolim celebrates the Feast of St Anthony with traditional pomp and fervor. It is held on 13th June. Built in the Corinthian style, the church houses a beautiful statue of St Anthony, on the church frontispiece, with a serpent dangling on a rope in his right hand.
The festival is celebrated to declare the arrival of monsoon. If the monsoon has not arrived by the time, there is a belief among the people to lower the statue of the saint into the family well for the onset of rain.
