The feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is held on 8 December at
Panaji and
Margao. The feast is also known as Ponjechem Fest or Panjim feast. It is celebrated in commemoration of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception. A large fair follows the feast. A large procession is taken out, followed by fireworks. Thousands of people irrespective of caste and creed, throng there to celebrate the festival.
