Feast of Jesus Nazareth is an important festival to Goans, held on the first Sunday after the
Easter. The festivities mainly takes place at the
Church of Jesus Nazareth in
Siridao.
All kinds of tea stalls, sweet shops, pottery shops, refreshment stands and stalls of channa are spotted on the way that leads up to the church. This feast is attended by thousands of devotees from far-off places.
Built in 1604, Church of Jesus Nazareth stands on the banks of the Zuari River, between Goa Velha (Old Goa) and Bambolim. It is about 8 km south of the state capital, Panaji.
