Eruvaka Poornima is a special festival celebrated by farmers on the full moon day, in the month of
Ashada. The farmers worship the yoke, the plough and the bulls and paste turmeric and vermilion bands (kuris) on them. They inaugurate the annual cultivation on this auspicious day by ploughing the fields.
