Duars is the entrance to Bhutan located in the border of the
Jalpaiguri and
Coochbehar, in
Jalpaiguri District. This region of northeastern India, at the foot of the west Assam Himalayas, is spread over an area of 4750 sq km. The area is divided by the Sankosh River into Western Duars and Eastern Duars.
Duars is famous for its tea gardens; about 152 in whole. Different species of orchids are found in its dense forest. The three reserve forests - Jaldapara, Gorumara and Chapramari - are situated in Duars.
