Dr TMA Pai Planetarium is situated on the banks of the Manipal Lake, near the Manipal Junior College in
Manipal. Named after Dr Tonse Madhav Pai, it organizes various programs meant to increase the interest about astronomy.
The Planetarium is housed in a beautiful 3,000 sq ft complex, which includes an exhibition lobby and an auditorium. It has an 8 m diameter sky dome.
Two shows, of 40 minutes duration, are conducted daily, one in Kannada and the other in English. The show, entitled 'Starry Skies', covers the galaxies and the solar system. It is a general program for students and general public.
The planetarium is closed on Tuesdays.
