An ISO-9001-2000 Institution, Dr B R Ambedkar Government Polytechnic was established in 1984 with Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering as principle disciplines. The institution is situated in a picturesque location at Pahargaon, in a campus spread over 17 hectares of land. It is also emerging as a Resource Centre for providing technical support to various Government Departments and Private Agencies.
