Don




Don is a pilgrim spot situated near Darouli in Siwan District and is 35 km from Siwan.

The place is famous for a Stupa, it enshrines the vessel which carried the ashes of Buddha. It was built by a Brahmin named Dona, hence the name of the place. Another point of interest is the 9th century statue of Goddess Tara.

Don can be reached by road from Patna via Chhapra, crossing the Mahatma Gandhi Bridge over the Ganges. Closest railway station is at Siwan.
