Dodol




Dodol is one of the famous Goan sweetmeats, traditionally prepared at Christmas time. This is a soft jaggery-flavoured fudge made from palm-sap jaggery, rice flour, coconut milk, butter and vanilla essence. Preparation of this sweet is similar to Indian Halwa. It is usually cooled in a flat pan and served in slices, and is very sweet. This moist dark jaggery cake is a must during special occasions in Goa.
