Dodi Tal is an enchanting hill station perched at an elevation of 3024 meters above the sea level, situated in the
Uttarkashi District of
Uttaranchal. Surrounded by dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons, Dodi Tal presents a picture of a captivating paradise, alluring hundreds of tourists every year. It is situated 32 km from the district headquarters town of
Uttarkashi.
Major attraction here is a crystal clear lake of about 2 km in circumference. 'Dodi' is the local name for trout which is found aplenty in the water body. It is said that the water has medicinal properties that freshens the skin.
Dodi Tal can be reached through a motorable road from Uttarkashi. During summer season, a round trek from Hanumanchatti to Uttarkashi via Dodi Tal is possible. Accommodation facilities are available in and around Dodi Tal.
