Didayees are the tribal groups found in
Malkangiri District on both sides of the Machhakunda river in Kandakamberu hills. It is believed that they are part of the
Paraja tribe and have a rich heritage. They maintain matrimonial relationships with the
Bonda and Paraja tribes. The Didayi tribe has its own language.
These people live in houses made of bamboo and wood. Didayees keep their houses very clean and decorate the walls with colours. They have unique methods of treatment and fishing, hunting, and cultivation are the main occupations.
