Dhoparguri Satra




Established in 1587 by Madhavdeva, Dhoparguri Satra is a famous holy shrine in the historic village of Hajo. This satra, originally built as a three room satra, is now equipped with numerous holy spots such as Gokrana, Vikrana and Swargdwar. It is a highly revered shrine for both the local populace and tourists.

Hajo is about 14 miles to the northwest of Guwahati. An excellent road from Guwahati links Hajo with the rest of state. Nearest railhead and airport are also situated at Guwahati.
