Dhokra Kamar or Gharua is a community of metal craftsmen belonging to
West Bengal. They are basically a semi-nomadic tribe.
As per tradition, the Dhokra Kamars repair utensils and sells small idols of Hindu gods. They also make jewel caskets, measuring bowls and lamps used for rituals. Their product range also includes small idols of animals, birds, trinkets and bells.
They use the lost-wax process to mould different objects. They never make cooking or dining utensils.
