The Dhobi (washer man) community has its own kind of song called the Dhobiya. These songs being a folk variety lack any complexity.
The theme is restricted to the life and events surrounding the community. The songs contain reference to rivers, canals, boats, fishes and other things that these washer-men come into contact during their work.
