Dharmasastha Temple

Dharmasastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is situated at Kuzhalmannam, about 12 km from Palakkad. The important feature is that the temple has no idols. Three stone oil lamps are placed on a raised platform. Puja and avahana are done on these three lamps for the deities Poorna, Pushkala and Dharmasastha. The temple also has some stone idols of Sarparaja, the Snake king, behind the oil lamps. Morning puja is the main and only puja here. Breaking of coconut is the main offering.
