Dhariyawad is one of the sub-divisions of
Udaipur District, in
Rajasthan. It was founded by prince Sahasmal – the second son of
Maharana Pratap, in the middle of 19th century. The place is well-known for the Udai Bilas Palace, the erstwhile residence of the royal family. Dhariyawad is 120 km from Udaipur.
Dhariyawad is surrounded by the majestic Aravalli Ranges and is inhabited mainly by tribal people. Major tourist attractions include the 16th century fort and the Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary. A horse safari to explore the forested region and Bhil tribal settlements will be a memorable experience.
