The village of Dhargalim near
Bardez is an unspoiled place. Situated across the
Chapora River, this drowsy little village is about 10 km north of
Mapusa. There is an imposing mansion, the Desai house, in the village. This Hindu style palace has 24 rooms with large halls. There are two hexagonal watch towers in the palace that offers a panoramic view of the silvery Chapora River. It was built by Jaywantaji Roasaheb Jaiwantrao Desai. Another attraction in this site is the 20 acre Vikas Nursery. Bhetta bhett and Gulal are the festivals mainly celebrated by the villagers.
