Dhanaura lies on the western part of the Yamuna, about 9 km south of Dhorang, in Yamunanagar District. It is the southern-most settlement of the district and is situated 19 km south-west of Yamunanagar and 32 km west of Saharanpur.
Western Yamuna Canal flows through the western part of Dhanaura.
