Dhamma Thali Vipassana Center, established in 1977, is located about 10 km from
Jaipur, the capital city of
Rajasthan. It lies on a four acre pentagonal-shaped piece of forest land.
The center aims at promoting the practice of Vipassana, one of India's most ancient meditation techniques. This meditation system was revived by Lord Buddha 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for all the problems in life.
Dhamma Thali Vipassana Center is a graceful blend of Burmese and Rajasthani architecture. The entire building consists of a meditation hall seating 150 students, a pagoda and a cell complex, a teacher's residence, a Pali (an ancient Prakrit language) study house, a guest house and an administrative block.
