Dhamma Sindhu is located near the village of
Bada, in
Kutch District of
Gujarat. It is just 3 km inland from the
Arabian Sea. Founded in 1991, the centre lies on 35 acres of green land providing an ideal place for meditators.
Dhamma Sindhu aims to promote the practice of Vipassana, one of India's most ancient meditation techniques. Vipassana is the practical spirit of the teachings of Buddha, who taught Dhamma - the Universal Law of Nature.
The centre conducts ordinary ten-day courses and longer courses. The center has facilities for 150 students at a time. There is a meditation hall, a three-storey pagoda with 180 cells, a dining hall, kitchen, staff quarters, guest house and accommodation for 84 males and 60 females.
