Dhamma Setu Vipassana Meditation Center (VMC Dhamma Setu), established in 2000, is located at Thirumudivakkam in
Chennai District of
Tamil Nadu. It lies on 16 acres of lush green farm land. The building is constructed in Chettinad architecture, a typical of South Indian architecture.
The center aims at promoting the practice of Vipassana, one of India's most ancient meditation techniques. Vipassana is the practical spirit of the teachings of Buddha, who taught Dhamma - the Universal Law of Nature.
VMC Dhamma Setu teaches 15 courses annually. Ten day introductory classes are organized in Vipassana. Courses are run exclusively on a donation basis. Food and accommodation are available here.
The center is about 45 minutes drive from Chennai city. Chennai International Airport is 10 km away.
