Deviyottu Kavu is situated at the northern end of Kankol-Alappadamba Panchayat in
Kannur District. This sacred grove is placed in an area comprising 90 acres of dense forest. Deviyottu Kavu is home to different and rare varieties of trees. A rare progeny tree, Rudraksham as well as very rare orchids are seen in this Kavu. Different types of birds, animals, creatures and reptiles add beauty to this place. Payiyam Hill is situated nearby. An annual
theyyam is celebrated in Deviyottu Kavu which starts from the 17th of the Malayalam month
Vrischikam. This festival continues for one month and is concluded with Ooru Nadakkal. The celebration starts with the arrival of the Deepam (Light) and Nira from Payyanur Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple.
