Deotamura (Peak of Gods) or Devtamura is about 75 km from
Agartala on the banks of the
River Gomati. This important tourist destination is famous for its rock-cut shrines. The images of
Shiva,
Ganesh,
Vishnu,
Kartikeya,
Mahishasuramardini,
Durga and other gods and goddesses carved in stone, during the 15th and 16th centuries, can be seen here. The large images on the vertical rocks are truly breath-taking. There are about 37 rock cut images on the hill.
The boat travel provides a scenic view of the hill and its sculptures.
