Delhi Ivory Palace is a 300-year-old shop at the northern gate of
Jama Masjid in
Delhi. During its heyday, it attracted the finest craftsmen of Shahjahanabad.
With the ban on Ivory, the shop lost its relevance and now small items such as pendants and earrings made out of sandalwood and bones are on display.
The shop also features a fine collection of old furniture, which was intended as a gift for Queen Victoria. The collection is the work of three generations of craftsmen, who were second to none in their trade.
