Established in 1956,
Delhi Crafts Museum is situated at
Pragati Maidan in
New Delhi. Pragati Maidan is the usual venue of the International Trade Fair.
With the aim to showcase the works of native artisans in one place, the museum displays woodcarvings, paintings, paper-mache, embroidery and a full-sized wooden haveli from Gujarat. The main attraction of the museum is tribal and rural crafts. The museum also houses a Crafts Museum Shop. The artisans offer live demonstrations and glimpses of the folk arts of India.
The museum is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm except on Mondays.
