Started in 1979, Deepalaya is a registered society under Societies Act of India and educates children of vulnerable sections living in the slums of
Delhi.
Apart from educational programs, it assists in the field of urban slum community development, training and capacity building programs. It operates 337 educational centers accredited to the National Open School for both academic and vocational streams.
