Dauphine Helicopter from Pawan Hans Helicopter Limited has been in service since 1987 in the administration of the union territory of
Lakshadweep. It acts as a medical ambulance for casualty evacuation from the islands to
Kavaratti and
Kochi. It is also used for inter-island passenger transport during monsoon when fair weather ships and boats are not available. This helicopter service links
Agatti to the other islands for conducting daily trips during all seasons for connecting the Indian Airlines operating from Agatti.
