Dasmochhe Festival is a popular event of
Leh in
Jammu and Kashmir. It is celebrated on the 28th and 29th days of the 12th Bodhi month. Formerly, the expenses of this festival were met by the then king.
Several dances, which are staged alternatively by the lamas of the Matho and Gaun and Phyang gompas, are organized on this occasion. A fair is also held during this festival. On the last day of the festival, horse race is conducted.
