Dappu dance of
Andhra Pradesh is performed by a troupe consisting of ten to twenty artistes. It is presented during marriage processions, car festivals of deities and village fairs and festivals.
The dancers wear a tala paga (a head-turban), a dhoti and ankle bells. While performing, the dancers move in circular form whereas in procession, they move in two straight rows. The style of dance movements includes tiger steps, bird steps and horse steps. The musical instrument Dappu accompanies the performance.
