Daph is a one sided circular drum used in
Haryana by the rural folk to provide a rhythmic accompaniment during Daph and Dhamal dances. Simple in its construction, the Daph consists of an open circular frame covered with buffalo skin. It is decorated with colored fabrics. This ancient instrument is played either by hand or with small sticks.
