Danda Ras Dance

Danda Ras, a popular dance form of Himachal Pradesh, is performed to the best of intricate beats like dhamal and lahauli on drums.

It is usually presented by the Gaddi dancers in circles uttering sounds such as Jey Jey and Shee Shee. They lower and raise their legs gradually to the slow Lahauli rhythms. Traditional costumes such as Chola-Dora and tight fitting churidar pyjamas are worn by the participants.
