An eminent novelist of contemporary Punjabi literature, Dalip Kaur Tiwana was born in Rabbon of
Ludhiana district on May 4, 1935. She is the author of a number of novels, short stories, translated works, an autobiography, and a literary biography. Her works depict the deprivation and oppression encountered by women. The portrayal of the credulous rural folk and their ambitions and desires can also be found in her writings.
Langh Gaye Darya is one of her popular works. Dalip has to her credit several regional and national awards.
